Part of the negotiation process is dealing with creditors that do not respond to your offers for settlement. It is important that you understand that this does happen and to not let it frustrate you.
There may be reasons why a creditor hasn’t respond but there is no way to know for sure the reason they haven’t responded. Maybe the letter was lost in the mail. Perhaps the creditor put your offer letter aside to deal with at another time. Or maybe the creditor is not ready to work a settlement just yet. Really, there is no way to tell exactly why, but Paydoff will guide you through how to handle it when a creditor does not respond.
As shown below, Paydoff will alert you in your To Do list after a certain amount of time to ask you if you have a received a response on your recent settlement offer. If the creditor did not respond to you, you can either choose to send the creditor the offer again (or another offer for a slightly higher amount) or you can choose to ignore this creditor for now and work on other creditors that do respond to your offers. This decision is up to you.
