Creditors listed under the ‘Inactive Accounts’ tab within Paydoff are those creditors that are not currently in negotiations. There are a few reasons why accounts would not be in active negotiations. They are as follow:
Accounts not started yet:
Creditors that you have not sent an offer to yet will be listed under ‘Inactive Accounts’ until you decide to send out an offer. Then the creditor will be moved to the ‘Active Negotiations’ tab while you await a response from the creditor.
Frozen and/or Suspended Accounts:
Sometimes when you are trying to negotiate with a creditor, the deal just doesn’t work out and/or the timing just isn’t right. For example if a creditor never gets back to you about an offer or if a creditor’s counter offer isn’t affordable to you, then you may decide to pass on doing the deal with this creditor at that time. In these cases, the creditor will be moved from the ‘Active Negotiations’ tab back to the ‘Inactive Accounts’ tab. You can still negotiate with this creditor again in the future when you are ready and once you do, the creditor will move back to the ‘Active Negotiations’ tab again.
If you have reached a deal with a creditor for settlement, but the creditor will not provide you a valid settlement letter you may decide to pass on the deal until the creditor will provide a valid settlement letter. For this scenario, the creditor will be marked as Frozen and will be moved back to ‘Inactive Accounts’ until you indicate you have a valid settlement letter and wish to proceed with the deal OR until you indicate that the creditor has moved to a new collection agency and you wish to begin negotiations again.
